Legend: Music of Bob Marley

Friday 2nd October 2026

Celebrate the extraordinary musical legacy of Bob Marley with an evening dedicated to the songs that helped take reggae from Jamaica to audiences around the world.

Legend: Music of Bob Marley brings Marley’s catalogue to the Theatre Royal Nottingham with a full live band and performers recreating some of the most recognisable songs in reggae history.

Audiences can expect classics including Could You Be Loved, Is This Love, One Love, No Woman, No Cry, Three Little Birds, Buffalo Soldier, Exodus, Get Up, Stand Up and I Shot the Sheriff.

Marley became far more than an internationally successful musician. His music brought Jamaican reggae and Rastafarian culture to an unprecedented global audience while addressing themes of freedom, resistance, spirituality, inequality and African identity.

His influence was particularly significant in Britain, where reggae became part of the cultural soundtrack of Caribbean communities and later helped shape generations of Black British musicians.

The success of Marley and The Wailers also helped create a wider international audience for Jamaican artists and demonstrated the global possibilities of music rooted in Caribbean culture.

For Black History Month audiences, the show provides an opportunity to celebrate an artist whose cultural impact continues decades after his death and whose songs remain closely associated with unity, justice and liberation.

The performance runs in two sets with an interval.

Legend: Music of Bob Marley takes place at the Theatre Royal Nottingham on Friday 2nd October 2026 at 7:30pm.
