Women from Manchester’s diverse communities are invited to take part in a series of free dance, movement and exercise sessions during Black History Month.
Healthy Moves offers a welcoming and supportive environment where women can get active, improve their wellbeing and connect with others in the community.
The sessions are particularly aimed at women from ethnic minority communities and combine accessible movement and exercise with an emphasis on confidence, social connection and feeling good.
Black History Month is not only an opportunity to explore history and heritage, but also to recognise the organisations and individuals supporting the health and wellbeing of Black communities today.
Community-based activities such as Healthy Moves can play an important role in helping people overcome barriers to exercise, reduce isolation and build supportive relationships.
No specialist dance or fitness experience is needed. The sessions are designed to be inclusive and enjoyable, allowing participants to take part at a level that feels comfortable for them.
Sessions take place on three consecutive Saturdays during October.
