Black History Celebration 2026 – Honouring Our Communities

Wednesday 28th October 2026

George House Trust joins Factory International for a major Black History Month celebration recognising the people who strengthen and support communities across Greater Manchester.

This year’s celebration takes its theme from Honouring Our Communities and will recognise individuals whose dedication, resilience, compassion and service continue to make a difference to people living with HIV.

The evening will feature live music, poetry, a fashion parade, choir performances, drumming, panel discussions and live DJ entertainment.

African cuisine will also be served as part of an evening designed around culture, connection and community.

Guests are encouraged to attend in African and Caribbean clothing if they wish.

George House Trust has supported people living with HIV in Greater Manchester for decades, and the event will bring together service users, supporters, partners and members of the wider community.

The celebration places Black community contribution at its centre, recognising people whose everyday work in health, support, advocacy and community service may not always receive public recognition.

The event runs from 5.30pm to 9.30pm.

Advance registration is required through George House Trust.
