Chineke Juniors

Sunday 4 September 2016

The Chineke! Junior Orchestra showcases some of the UK’s most talented young musicians from the BME community.

Aged 12 to 18, the Chineke! Juniors have all reached Grade 6 or above on their instrument. Having performed together in The Clore Ballroom on several occasions in the past, this short concert will mark the debut of the orchestra on the Royal Festival Hall stage.

After intensive rehearsals on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 September with their conductor, Marlon Daniel, and taking part in the Africa Utopia People’s Catwalk on the latter day, the orchestra delight audiences with a programme featuring Beethoven’s stirring Overture, Coriolan, and Prokofiev’s joyful Classical Symphony.

This promises to be an inspirational event for aspiring young instrumentalists, and their families and friends.
