Tiffany Calver

Friday 10 September 2021

Tiffany Calver is a 23-year-old DJ and Journalist currently living in London.

With an unparalleled knowledge of, and passion for, championing the underdogs and up-and-comers within the hip-hop scene and its many sub-genres, Tiffany brings a level of originality to all facets of her work. Whether it’s through her written work for publications like Hypebeast, her sold out “Tiffany Calver & Friends” events (that have debuted underground acts like Divine Council, 6IX9INE, Awful Records and Sango in London), or her weekly “Kiss Hip-Hop” radio show on Kiss FM – making her both one of the youngest broadcasters currently on national radio, as well as the only female (in history) to have ever been given a specialist rap slot.

Tiffany’s passion for the culture and ability to spotlight new artists before they blow has made her a key figure in connecting the dots between musicians and their fans worldwide. A skill that has earned her the opportunity to be the first lady of OVO Sound Radio, being hand-picked to curate a mix for Drake’s Apple Music show just shy of her 23rd birthday after his manager, Oliver El-Khatib, spotted her spinning at Skepta’s SKair after-party. 2017 also saw Tiffany making her Boiler Room DJ debut, twice, both in London with D.R.A.M. and later at SXSW Austin Texas alongside AJ Tracey, A$AP Mob, Maxo Kream, and more – a set that Boiler Room went on to name a highlight of their 2017 broadcasts.

Meanwhile, her growing influence has seen labels such as Awful Records appoint her as project manager for their stage at M.I.A.’s Meltdown Festival, Fredo appoint her as his official tour DJ, i-D Magazine crowning her as “the future of the music industry”, Diplo close out his year with Tiffany guest mixing for his BBC Radio 1 residency, Diplo & Friends, and much more.

Tiffany’s more than just a poster-girl for emerging hype;; a passionate advocate for mental health awareness in the music community, she’s currently working with the mental health charity Mind to develop conversations around the real issues that affect musicians making a living today. Tiffany is building a seriously rare kind of reputation in the industry. Whilst still in her early twenties: mixing influence on the streets of New York and London with a critic’s eye for the culture and authenticity, she’s one of the hottest young broadcasters and authorities across the US and UK, blazing a truly unique and multifaceted trail for herself in the industry.
