Adapted by playwright Sabrina Mahfouz and presented by Pilot Theatre in association with Northern Stage, this gripping drama reimagines a world divided by race, power and privilege. At its heart is the story of Sephy and Callum, two young people from opposite sides of a deeply segregated society—one a member of the ruling class, the other part of the oppressed underclass—whose forbidden relationship unfolds against a backdrop of political tension and social unrest.
Drawing comparisons to Romeo and Juliet, the production explores themes of racism, inequality, identity and resistance, offering a compelling reflection on contemporary society through a reversed racial hierarchy.
