Sadness and Sweetnes: the cost of migration on the Windrush families

A screening of the documentary Sadness and Sweetness. Followed by a panel discussion and a therapeutic Caribbean dance workshop.

 

In honour of National Windrush Week, HFCC will be screening the documentary Sadness and Sweetness: the Cost of Migration on the Windrush Families.

The documentary looks at four Hackney residents who spent part of their childhoods being raised by relatives in informal connected care arrangements in the Caribbean before reuniting with their parents in Hackney. There will be a panel discussion with the producer and presenter of the film, Sheba Montserrat.

Following the panel discussion, there will be an opportunity to take part in a therapeutic Caribbean dance workshop led by Sheba.
