Celebrate the extraordinary range and influence of Black music with an afternoon and evening of jazz, soul, reggae, Afrobeats, hip hop, house and much more.
Shades of Black brings together DJs Jason Page, Lloydus, Mr Burns and Selector Becca for more than six hours of music at The Hill Station Café in New Cross.
The event will travel across generations, genres and continents, celebrating the music created and shaped by Black artists and communities.
Expect jazz, soul, funk, boogie, disco and R&B alongside ska, rocksteady, reggae, dancehall, calypso and soca.
The DJs will also explore Afropop, Afrobeat, Afrobeats and Afro-Latin sounds before moving through hip hop, house, garage, jungle and beyond.
From the sounds of the Caribbean and Africa to Black British club culture, the event celebrates the connections between different musical traditions and the creativity that continues to influence music around the world.
Each DJ will bring their own selections and style, creating a musical journey designed for listening, dancing and discovering something new.
The Hill Station Café is an independent community café, bar and live-music venue situated on Telegraph Hill in New Cross.
