Black Futures Awards 2026 celebrates Black excellence, leadership and community achievement across Greater Manchester.
Taking place at Manchester Museum during Black History Month, the awards recognise individuals, businesses, organisations and changemakers whose work is making a positive contribution to communities today while helping shape opportunities for future generations.
Black History Month is often associated with recognising important historical figures, but the Black Futures Awards place particular emphasis on the people creating change in the present.
Nominees may come from business, education, community work, culture, health, public service and many other areas of life.
The awards provide an opportunity to recognise people whose contributions may not always receive widespread public attention despite having a significant impact within their professions or communities.
The evening will bring together community leaders, professionals, supporters and organisations for a celebration of achievement and possibility.
By highlighting role models from across Greater Manchester, the event also allows younger generations to see the breadth of opportunities available and the many different ways individuals can make a contribution.
