Greater Manchester’s Black History Month programme begins with an evening of live performances, community connection and recognition at Manchester Cathedral.
Civic leaders, community organisations, cultural institutions and residents from across Greater Manchester will come together for the official launch of the region’s Black History Month 2026 programme.
The evening will feature live performances celebrating Black history and heritage, alongside the launch of a calendar of events taking place throughout Greater Manchester.
The programme has been developed with civic leaders and community voices through the Greater Manchester Black History Month Stakeholder Group. It reflects the experiences of the people and communities being celebrated and recognises the contributions that continue to shape the city, the region and the country.
Visitors will have an opportunity to meet representatives from community organisations, cultural institutions and local businesses. A limited number of stalls will also be available for organisations wishing to promote their work and connect with potential partners.
The event is delivered by the Caribbean & African Health Network and supported by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
Admission is free, but advance registration is required.
