Black History Month Reception Evening 2026 brings communities from across Greater Manchester together for an evening celebrating Black achievement, leadership, culture and community contribution.
Organised by the Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN), the annual reception has become an important gathering within Manchester’s Black History Month calendar, providing an opportunity to recognise individuals and organisations whose work is making a positive difference across the region.
The evening combines recognition with celebration through a programme featuring awards, cultural performances, entertainment, fashion, dinner and opportunities for guests to connect with community leaders, professionals and organisations.
At the heart of the event is a commitment to recognising people whose contributions are sometimes made quietly within neighbourhoods, workplaces, voluntary organisations and community networks. The awards provide an opportunity to celebrate individuals whose leadership, service and dedication have strengthened communities across Greater Manchester.
Guests will also experience performances and cultural presentations reflecting the richness and diversity of African and Caribbean heritage.
The reception provides an important opportunity for organisations, businesses and community groups to come together, build new relationships and celebrate the achievements of people working across health, education, business, public service and community development.
Taking place during Black History Month 2026, the event combines reflection on the contributions of previous generations with recognition of the people shaping communities today.
