An empowering Black History Month seminar helping women, young adults and members of the wider community develop the confidence and practical tools to create change.
The GEWE Network, in partnership with the Be More Initiative, presents an inspiring community seminar at Wigan Library.
Influenced by the 2026 Black History Month theme, Honouring Our Communities, the event will celebrate heritage while encouraging people to transform their potential into meaningful progress.
Participants will explore practical approaches to confidence, leadership and community action through the LEGIT Blueprint: Lead, Empower, Grow, Innovate and Transform.
The seminar will also introduce the TAP framework: Think, Act and Progress, helping participants move from ideas and aspirations towards practical action.
Through shared stories, conversations and activities, the event will examine how individuals can recognise their abilities, strengthen their leadership skills and contribute to positive change within their communities.
The seminar is particularly designed to support women and young adults, but men and members of the wider community are also warmly invited to attend.
It will provide an opportunity to meet new people, build confidence, exchange experiences and develop practical tools for becoming a community changemaker.
