The Alternative Black Cabaret Showcase

Wednesday 11 June

Step into a night of irreverent laughter, musical flair, and cultural commentary as the Alternative Black Cabaret Showcase flips the script on the classic cabaret night. Inspired by the variety shows of the 70s, this is cabaret with a twist—raw, razor-sharp, and unapologetically funny.

This special event brings together a knockout line-up of new and established Black comedians, alongside live music, games, and surprise performances. Expect satire, side-splitting stories, and bold perspectives that challenge the norm and celebrate Black joy, resistance, and brilliance.

Vince Atta, described by The Guardian as “one of the circuit’s most promising acts,” headlines the night with his signature fusion of stand-up, music, storytelling, and off-the-cuff audience interaction. Vince’s infectious live shows are part gig, part comedy set, and all energy.

Joining him is Seeta Wrightson, a sharp-tongued observational comic making waves across the UK. Known for her keen insight and hilarious takes on everyday life, Seeta’s set draws powerfully on her experience of growing up with dual Asian and British heritage—expect smart humour with heart and bite.

Rounding out the bill is Annette Fagon, a fast-rising star whose comedy straddles the line between bold and brilliantly relatable. Whether she’s dissecting fashion, mobile phones, or Beyoncé, Annette’s high-octane style and unapologetic honesty have lit up stages across the UK. A past winner of Best Newcomer at the BECA Awards, she’s one to watch—and one you don’t want to miss.
