A special Black History Month event in Manchester brings together literature, film and conversation to explore the stories carried across generations and communities.
The Stories We Carry features author Tony Fairweather, who will discuss his book Twenty Eight Pounds & 10 Shillings and the experiences of the Windrush generation.
The evening will also include filmmaker Nathaniel Richards and his film Ode to Black Women, celebrating Black women, their experiences and their contributions.
Through personal stories, literature and film, the event will explore migration, identity, memory and the importance of preserving Black British history for future generations.
It offers an opportunity to hear directly from writers and creatives whose work reflects the experiences of Black communities in Britain.
