Black Consciousness Workshop: Decolonising the Mind

Saturday 18 September 2021

Join us for this enlightening and engaging course in which we will not only place Black Consciousness in its historical context but will learn how to deploy its tools in pursuit of our personal and collective growth.

In an amazing day of workshops, participants will be introduced to the ideas of South African revolutionary Steve Biko, who stressed the importance of psychological emancipation to any struggle for equality.

The first course of its kind, it aims to inspire participants to think about concrete ways to solve the problems our increasingly global and interconnected communities face.

A course open to all, through exercises designed to challenge participants to begin to think about ways to de-colonise their mindset and the systems and structures around them, we aim to empower participants to live as Biko did, more audaciously, more authentically and most importantly, more consciously.

This event is part of our winter workshops on the life and work of Steve Biko. Click here to find out more.
