History Months – South Asian Heritage in Healthcare

Tuesday 21 September 2021

We are delighted to welcome you to this History Months event, bringing together colleagues working in General Practice from across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

*Please note: These sessions are not recorded, and we hope for this to be a safe space for us all to share, listen and learn*

In this History Month event, we celebrate and highlight the annual South Asian Heritage Month.

Join us and our panel of primary care colleagues from a South Asian heritage to hear and explore personal experiences and how a South Asian background has influenced their NHS and primary care journey.

This event is for all staff working in Primary Care.

What to expect?

Join Aiysha and Ojali, our Racial Equity and Diversity Leads who will be in conversation with our colleagues in primary care and special guests for:

An evening of listening to lived experiences, the challenges and successes faced and to learn more about South Asian heritage.

This event will be held on the Zoom platform. Sign up here using your work or NHS email and details of how to join will be sent the day before and the day of the event.

Following on from our Black History Month, Islam Awareness, LGBTQ+, International Women’s Day, Windrush History and other Histories awareness events we are bringing this event to you which is intended to be the start to ongoing conversations in healthcare. We feel that the histories of all of the myriad of diverse groups within our teams cannot be relegated to only a month in the year. Each month we plan to explore a different theme or talk with different colleagues from different communities. We look forward to meeting you and welcome your ideas!
