The Alchemy Of Place: Creating Immersive Settings With Marcia Douglas

Saturday 4 December 2021

How can our writing present both commonplace as well as fantastical worlds with dimension and interest? And what tools can we use to establish those worlds as places integral to our characters’ lives?

This workshop will explore the creation and development of compelling settings. Through group discussion and writing exercises, each participant will delve into a series of both real and imaginary places. We will work on strategies for invigorating our settings with the sorts of details that engage and transport readers. This workshop is suitable for writers of all levels.
