Join the inaugural Black Mental Health Conference 2026, a powerful and timely event dedicated to addressing the mental health challenges faced by Black communities across the UK.
Organised by Black South West Network (BSWN), this conference brings together mental health professionals, community leaders, educators, NHS representatives and grassroots organisations to explore the systemic factors impacting wellbeing and access to care.
The theme, “The Black Man’s Burden,” draws on historical and contemporary realities, examining the lasting impact of colonialism, systemic injustice and racial inequality on mental health. While centred on Black men’s experiences, the discussion reflects wider challenges affecting Black communities more broadly.
The event aims to foster open dialogue around healing, resilience and structural change, offering a platform for knowledge-sharing and community connection.
Attendees can expect:
- Keynote presentations from leading voices, including Dr Leroy Logan MBE
- Panel discussions exploring mental health across institutions and communities
- Interactive Q&A sessions
- Networking opportunities with professionals and advocates
This conference provides a valuable opportunity to engage with critical conversations around mental health, identity and equity, while building connections across sectors working to support Black wellbeing.
