Black History Month – Foraging In The Forest

Saturday 9 October 2021

Rasheeqa Ahemd (Hedge herbs) leads a foraging trip and ‘fire vinegar’ tonic making session as part of our Black History Month programme.

Join us on a walk through the local forest looking for seasonal roots and berries. We will make ‘fire cider’ while learning about it’s useage. All the necessary ingredients will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own too.

Recipes (medicinal or culinary) using the plants, spices, and ingredients discussed will be collected and compiled into a booklet, drawing out these links between plants and practices in the Caribbean and the UK.
