Black Culture Market Returns to Brixton for Two-Day Spring Celebration in 2026

The Black Culture Market will return to Brixton this spring, bringing together more than 40 Black-owned businesses for a two-day indoor market celebrating African and Caribbean culture, creativity and commerce.

Taking place on Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March 2026, the Spring Market will be hosted at The Department Store in Brixton, running from 11am to 5pm on both days. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

Now a well-established fixture on London’s community events calendar, the Black Culture Market provides a vital platform for emerging entrepreneurs and independent traders of African and Caribbean descent. The market offers face-to-face retail opportunities while creating a welcoming space for cultural exchange, community connection and economic empowerment.

Visitors can expect a diverse shopping and cultural experience, with stalls offering fashion, jewellery, books, African art, natural skincare, grooming products, toys, educational resources, gifts and original handmade items. A selection of food traders will also be in attendance, serving freshly prepared food, cakes and refreshments throughout the weekend.

Organisers say the Spring Market reflects both the creativity and resilience of Black-owned businesses, while responding to growing demand for ethical, community-rooted shopping experiences. By hosting the event in Brixton — an area with deep historical and cultural ties to the African and Caribbean community — the market continues its commitment to celebrating heritage while supporting contemporary enterprise.

The event will take place downstairs at The Department Store, located at 248 Ferndale Road, London SW9 8FR, a short walk from Brixton Underground and Overground stations.

Entry is free, with tickets available to book online in advance via www.blackculturemarket.co.uk.
