The original architects of UK reggae, Cimarons stand as a cornerstone of British music history — pioneers who helped define the sound and spirit of reggae across generations.
Formed in late-60s London, they were the first full reggae band in Europe, bringing the rhythms of Jamaica to a new audience and laying the groundwork for a thriving cultural movement.
Their rise through Trojan Records saw them back legends like Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff and Toots Hibbert, while developing a fearless and distinct sound rooted in roots, rocksteady, lovers rock and dub.
Today, the band remains led by founding members Locksley Gichie and Franklyn Dunn, and now features powerhouse vocalist Michael Arkk — adding fresh energy to their storied legacy.
Returning with Harder Than The Rock, their first album in decades, Cimarons reaffirm their place as masters of deep roots reggae — still vital, still powerful, and still blazing their trail.
