futuretense: GESELLE + KeepVibesNear

Thursday 11 December

Soak up a melting pot of influences from two rising star musicians playing jazz- and R&B-inspired music – all for free.

GESELLE is a soul and R&B artist based in south-east London. Recognisable for her signature silky voice and contemporary jazz-inspired sound, her music is shaped by deep personal experiences, and is rooted in authenticity and emotional expression.

Influenced by her mother’s passion for jazz and growing up in the 2000s pop era, she combines genres, creating her own. A dancer since the age of two, she integrates choreography in all her work, often collaborating with dance collectives, like Hydrogen by Kelsey Miller.

Romford-raised, east London-based artist KeepVibesNear’s voice is unmistakable, cutting through leftfield alt-R&B with the kind of intimacy that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into something personal. He crafts music that challenges the rigid framework of masculinity, pulling apart the idea that vulnerability is something to be hidden.

He has performed at We Out Here and Cross The Tracks, and played an opening slot for Loyle Carner in Hamburg. Sonically, he pulls from an eclectic mix of influences, including Stevie Wonder, King Krule and Frank Ocean.
