EVENT: “Black History Month in Britain and the black mental health experience”. Guest speakers Patrick Vernon OBE and Diverse Cymru.

Description: Our Race Equality and Cultural Heritage Workplace equality network is hosting this event as part of its BHM celebrations. Patrick Vernon OBE, will be talking about the relationship between Black History Month and the black experience in Britain, particularly the issue of mental health and current trends around over representation under the Mental Health Act. Diverse Cymru will then provide a Welsh context, speaking about their work in Wales, including the previously launched Cultural Competency Toolkit, a toolkit to help staff better interact with clients with mental ill health who are from different cultures.
