Beverley Bryan, Stella Dadzie and Suzanne Scafe in conversation with Heidi Mirza for the launch of Heart of the Race. To celebrate the republication of Heart of the Race, which was first published in 1985, Beverley Bryan, Stella Dadzie and Suzanne Scafe will be discussing their seminal book about the collective experience of black women in Britain, and their relationship to the British state throughout its long history of slavery, empire and colonialism.

Heidi Mirza, who interviewed the authors for the new edition of the book, will also be speaking with them at the event, discussing the impact of their book since publication, and its continuing relevance today.
