
Black History Studies presents the next Black History Tour of the British Museum on Sunday, 26 October 2025. This guided tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the Museum’s African collections through the lens of Black history, culture, and heritage.
During the tour, expert guides will lead participants around key artefacts, providing detailed insights into their historical, cultural, and artistic significance. The focus will be on fostering understanding and appreciation of Africa’s rich and diverse histories, highlighting stories often overlooked in traditional narratives.
The British Museum houses extensive collections from historic African societies. Among the highlights of the tour are the renowned Bronzes of Benin, celebrated for their intricate craftsmanship, and select treasures from the Egyptian Gallery, offering a window into ancient African civilizations.
