Black History Studies presents the next Black History Tour of the British Museum on Sunday, 26 October 2025. This guided tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the Museum’s African collections through the lens of Black history, culture, and heritage.

During the tour, expert guides will lead participants around key artefacts, providing detailed insights into their historical, cultural, and artistic significance. The focus will be on fostering understanding and appreciation of Africa’s rich and diverse histories, highlighting stories often overlooked in traditional narratives.

The British Museum houses extensive collections from historic African societies. Among the highlights of the tour are the renowned Bronzes of Benin, celebrated for their intricate craftsmanship, and select treasures from the Egyptian Gallery, offering a window into ancient African civilizations.

The tour is designed to inspire, engage, and educate the community, encouraging participants to develop a deeper interest in African history and its relevance today. It is suitable for students, educators, and anyone curious about the stories behind these remarkable artefacts.

The Afternoon Tour will run from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, with tickets priced at £15 per person. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the British Museum’s African collections in a meaningful and informative way while celebrating Black History Month.
