Her music is a powerful blend of tradition and innovation, weaving blues, folk and rock into the rich tapestry of West African rhythm; a testament to resilience, heritage and the unbreakable bond between music and identity.
Oumou Sangaré received recognition in the Aga Khan Music Awards in 2019 for her Distinguished and Enduring Contributions to Music. Opening the concert are winners of the 2025 awards – artists whose work preserves and reimagines musical traditions from across diverse cultures.
This concert is curated by the Aga Khan Music Awards 2025 in collaboration with the EFG London Jazz Festival and celebrates outstanding musical creativity inspired by cultural heritage across the world.
