Leicester Libraries presents: Valerie Bloom MBE: Author, Poet and Performance Poet

Wednesday 7th October

Valerie Bloom MBE: Author, Poet and Performance Poet

Valerie has written a number of poetry collections and novels, run writing courses, led workshops and has had residencies worldwide. She has performed her work at festivals, on television and radio in Britain, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.

Her writing is heavily influenced by her Jamaican background – she begins most performances with a crash course in Jamaican Patois, so that non-speakers can enjoy the Patois poems even more! Free, book your place through Highfields Library.
