The Scriptwriters Series presents CJ Lloyd Webley

Tuesday 30th August

Grab a drink and join us for an evening with CJ Lloyd Webley as he explores the concepts of time and space in scriptwriting.

CJ Lloyd Webley is a multi-award winning writer, producer and activist; his career spans creative arts, business and social justice initiatives. His work has been widely recognised by BBC ONE, ITV, Channel 4 and BBC Radio 4.

CJ’s theatre practice involves socially engaged and participatory work. He is Lead Artist for Lightpost Theatre Company at the Birmingham Rep, a programme to support the mental well-being of young people and address the effects of racism, discrimination, negative self-image and invisibility. CJ provides employment opportunities to members through his social enterprise, The Black Pounds Project which is a business education, PR, publishing and Mentoring community.

The Scriptwriters Series is part of 37 Plays, our latest collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company – an ambitious and ground-breaking new playwriting project that seeks to capture and write the stories of our nation. Learn from the masters and hone your scriptwriting skills over the course of five focussed writing groups, delivered by our special guest writers.
