Black British Civil Rights

Saturday 29th October

The bias in schools gives the impression that racism and civil rights was an American issue and totally ignores the struggles Black British people endured.

This presentation will provide the names and achievements of those Black people born or resident here that fought against British racism over the last 400 years.

This presentation includes Thomas Peters, Ottobah Cuguano, Robert Wedderburn, Olaudah Equiano, Phyllis Wheatley, Learie Constantine, the Scrap Sus Campaign and more.

Black History Walks was set up in 2007. Since then, the organisation has established a reputation for its diverse programme of high-quality walks, tours, talks, educational courses, resources and film events.
