Professor Simon Dyson (Professor of Applied Sociology De Montfort University), NHS (Leicester) Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Unit and Leicester Organisation for Sickle Cell Anaemia Research (OSCAR) discusses screening, testing and the associated myths of Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia. The aim is to raise awareness and reduce stigma particularly in the African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, South Asian, Indian and Mediterranean communities most at risk of inheriting these conditions.
