Remembering George Floyd +3

Thursday May 25 2023, 6.30-9.00pm

An opportunity to review the outcomes of the pledges made by councils, and the creative industries, particularly book publishing and music.

Remembering George Floyd +3

Was it just a moment or a movement to tackle systemic racism and Afriphobia?

This is an opportunity for you, family and friends to sit through one session and watch some of the videos that came to us over the last few years via WhatsApp or Tik Tok, which particularly speak to global Afriphobia, racism, diversity, equity, and justice!
A special guest will highlight some of the outcomes and challenges from the pledges made by councils, statutory and corporate bodies, particularly the book publishing and music industries, to tackle Afriphobia, systemic racism, equity, diversity, and change of names within the public realm.

Curated and led by Kwaku BBM and moderated by Sis Nana Asante.
A family-friendly event organised by BTWSC/African Histories Revisited, BBM/BMC (BritishBlackMusicMusic.com/Black Music Congress) and TAOBQ (The African Or Black Question).
