Roundhouse Poetry Slam Final

Thursday 17 April

The prestigious Roundhouse Poetry Slam Final is back for its 20th year running as we call on the best in emerging spoken word to compete for a cash prize and the coveted title of Slam Champion. In celebration of its 20th year, BBC Radio 1’s Vick Hope will co-host the Roundhouse Poetry Slam with award-winning poet Toby Campion.

The UK’s biggest spoken word competition for 18-25 year-olds is thrilled to announce 2015 Slam winner, Caleb Femi, as the first guest judge, with more to be announced.

The Roundhouse Poetry Slam is one of our most anticipated events, first hitting the stage in 2006 and becoming the heart of The Last Word Festival in 2013. Having made it through six national heats, the most exciting voices in spoken word will put their original work to the test and our esteemed panel of judges will crown one poet Roundhouse Slam champion.

The Roundhouse has a trailblazing five-year partnership with international law firm Taylor Wessing. A well-known supporter of the arts, and with the Roundhouse specifically over the past few years, Taylor Wessing is the principal partner, including their dedicated support of the Poetry Slam.

“The Roundhouse Poetry Slam has been an important “ones to watch” for so many years, I’m super-excited to be a part of that process.” – Rachel Long
