Pegasus Opera Company presents Windrush & Migrations – Opera in Concert, a powerful evening of music and storytelling marking Windrush Day 2026.
Bringing together excerpts from Migrations by Will Todd and Windrush Opera by Des Oliver and Edson Burton, the performance explores themes of journey, identity and belonging. Through a combination of contemporary composition and classical repertoire, the programme reflects the experiences, memories and voices of migration across generations.
Performed by Pegasus Opera Company, whose work champions artists of African and Caribbean heritage, the concert is accompanied by the Brixton Chamber Orchestra. The programme also includes additional works that complement the central themes, creating a rich and varied musical experience.
Designed to mark Windrush Day, the performance offers a reflective and engaging exploration of migration through opera, combining historical narrative with live performance in an accessible and contemporary format.
