Unpacking The UK Music Diversity Report 2020: 1 Year+ RE:IMI Forum
Wednesday Feb. 16, 4.00-5.30pm (UK)
Book at: https://bit.ly/UKMBBM

Following on from the Afriphobic murder of George Floyd, and the #BlackOutTuesday/#TheShowMustBePaused campaigns, the UK industry resolved to particularly tackle Afriphobia, racism and ethnicity/race-facing diversity issues.

In October 2020, as part of the UK Music Diversity Report 2020, UK Music’s members signed up to the 10-Point Plan (see link and image below), which mapped out objectives towards boosting equity, diversity and inclusion, particularly around Race and Gender, in the music industry.

On Feb. 16 2022 BBM/BMC (BritishBlackMusic.com/Black Music Congress), in association with music industry representative body UK Music, is providing a forum to update the wide music industry stakeholders (check out image below to see who it covers) on what UK Music and its members have been doing to implement parts of the UK Music 10-Point Plan.

UK Music Diversity Taskforce chair Ammo Talwar MBE and deputy chair Paulette Long OBE in conversation with Kwaku (BBM/BMC).

As a RE:IMI (Race Equality: In Music Industry) forum, the focus will be on race/ethnicity-facing EDI issues, and combating Afriphobia and racism.

It’s your forum – let’s hear your individual or corporate voice!
