Dugsi Dayz

Friday 3 November

Following the sold out productions of Muna Knows It All (2021), HOME (2019) and Arawelo (2018), Side eYe Productions is coming to Curve in partnership with Kayd to bring Dugsi Dayz, a comedic adaptation of The Breakfast Club, written by Sabrina Ali.

It’s a Saturday afternoon and these four students are determined in keeping it tight-lipped on why they’re in detention.

Meet Salma, Yasmin, Munira and Hani, four girls who see the world and their place in it in radically different ways. When a power cut plunges them into darkness, the girls use folktales to break the ice. The hour they spend together allows them to realize that they have more in common than they thought, so what did they do to deserve detention? Getting to know one another is the only way to find out….

After her performance in HOME, and writer-performer role in Muna Knows It All, Sabrina Ali collaborates with old and new members of the Side eYe company in this light-hearted exploration of friendship between Somali girls.
