Let’s Talk About Trauma

Saturday 27 November 2021

An in-depth exploration of Trauma and how it impacts Black Women.

This month at Bare Life Class, we will be exploring the topic of Trauma- What it is, why it’s important we identify it and the impact it has on our lives, especially as black women.

We recognise that within the black community many of us are unable to recognise trauma. Sometimes we distance ourselves from our hurt experiences or only identify what we deem as extreme forms of trauma.

Research shows that in communities where people have had to endure a lot of hardship, it can be difficult to recognise trauma as often it is identified as normal and acceptable part of life.
