The BLM protests: Where do we go from here?

Join Reach Society’s  FREE round table debate on  Friday 31st July at 6:30pm via zoom video conference in which we’ll be discussing the question The BLM protests: Where do we go from here?

 

Background: The tragic murder of George Floyd and the BLM protest has provided fresh impetus to act against racial inequality and the need to bring about change. So, where do we go from here and what does change look like? To discuss this, we will hear from a number of speakers that will examine these questions in the area of employment, education, criminal justice, health, community activism.

Dr Marilyn Comrie OBE FRSA, Award winning serial entrepreneur, Director of The Blair Project (https://www.theblairproject.org/), founder and adviser to the Black United Representation Network (https://burncic.org/). Solomon Elliott founder and CEO of The Student View (https://www.thestudentview.org/), member of the BBC’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group, Forbes 30 under 30. Dr Nelda Frater, GP, Medical Director, Founder/Chair of The Water Tap Foundation. Dr Karl George MBE, thought leader and internationally established consultant in governance. Led contributor to the ‘No excuses’ campaign of black footballers asking for fair representation (https://theracecode.org/press).  Sandra Kerr CBE, former Cabinet advisor on race, gender and disability, currently the Business in the Community’s Race Equality Director. Dr Victor Olisa QPM, former Met Police Chief, with 35yrs police service, served as Borough Commander Haringey.
