Book your tickets and join this fun filled drumming sessions being run at Wood Street library in Waltham Forest on the 8th of October 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in celebration of Black History Month in October.

The sessions are run by Seneke Sillah is a musician who was born in Gambia in West African and his group of musicians playing the traditional music of the Wolof people of The Gambia and Senegal. He has many years of experience and runs these fun drumming sessions teaching to play the African Djembe.

The sessions are for the whole family to enjoy and learn at their own pace.

Bio

Seneke Sillah is one of Mbilla Arts’ lead musician and founding director of the company. He has nearly 15 years’ experience as a sessional artist leading African drumming workshops and performing in corporate, education and community settings. Performances include Wem Town Hall in February 2018 supporting Moussa Dembele (http://www.wemtownhall.co.uk/shropshire-music-trust-moussa-dembele/), entertaining delegates at Olympia London’s African Healthcare Week Conference and performing with his new band Kan Beng and with Mandinka fusion band Bafula during a live simulcast on 6 Music & BBC Radio 3 on the Charlie Gillet Stage at WOMAD in 2016 and has performed at the Barbican Walthamstow Garden Party, the Southbank Centre Africa Utopia Festival, Tropical Pressure Festival in the UK and at festivals in Germany, Poland, Switzerland and Spain.
