The Wallace Collection is one of the world’s great individual art collections.Hidden in its collection of over 5,500 works there are many black presences, most times hidden. We’ll take you around the Collection introducing you to many different works revealing subjects of economic capital, creators of cultural capital, kings & kingdoms, musicians, princesses, slaves, servants, saints and inspirations. You’ll be introduced to the religious, cultural and social significance of the black presence in The Wallace Collection. If you want to understand this presence in one of the great collections of 18th and 19th century art in the home of the connoisseur who brought this sumptuous collection together, then this tour is for you.
