The support on offer for patients at their GP practice is expanding

The support on offer for patients at their GP practice is expanding, thanks to thousands more healthcare staff working in local communities.

As part of the campaign, a new animated video has now been created to explain clearly how the range of health professionals at local GP practices can help patients get the right care when they need it, in addition to seeing their GP or practice nurse. Organisations and individuals are being encouraged to download and share the animation, so that as many people as possible are made aware of the support offered.

Did you know there is a range of health professionals at your local General Practice, to help you get the right care when you need it?

The team at your General Practice can include nurses, physiotherapists, clinical pharmacists, mental health practitioners, paramedics, social prescribing link workers, and health and wellbeing coaches. The Reception Team is trained to discuss your medical concern thoroughly and confidentially, so you can be seen by the right health professional for your situation.

If you need to see a GP you will always be offered an appointment, but there may be other health professionals who can provide the most appropriate support.

Your General Practice team is here to help you.
