UAL Pride Month: Representation 365 with UK Black Pride

Wednesday 3rd June 2026

Join University of the Arts London (UAL) and UK Black Pride for a thought-provoking evening of conversation exploring representation, identity and community as part of Pride Month 2026.

This special edition of Representation 365 features Lady Phyll, CEO and co-founder of UK Black Pride, in a relaxed, in-conversation format designed to encourage open dialogue and reflection. The event is part of an ongoing series aimed at fostering meaningful discussion around cultural identity, accountability and representation.

Rather than focusing on traditional narratives of innovation, this talk centres the often overlooked contributions of Black queer and QTIPOC communities, highlighting how knowledge, resilience and creativity are shaped within lived experience. It explores how these histories can inform responses to ongoing challenges including political hostility, cultural erasure and systemic inequality.

Led by UAL’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team, alongside Student Engagement Manager Jason Forrest and UK Black Pride Trustee Josie Peres, the session creates space for shared learning, discussion and audience participation.

The evening will include reflections on community-led futures, care and wellbeing, as well as opportunities for questions and collective conversation in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
