Black History Month Cultural Pop-Up Market & Workshop Weekend

Celebrate Black history, culture and creativity with a full weekend of shopping, workshops, music, art and family activities at The Galleria in Hatfield.

 

Presented by Hatfield Cultural Connection CIC, the Black History Month Cultural Pop-Up Market & Workshop Weekend brings together Black-owned businesses, artists, performers, community organisations and local families for two days dedicated to culture, heritage and community.

Visitors will be able to browse a pop-up market featuring independent Black-owned businesses and talented makers, with products ranging from fashion and accessories to art, crafts and other creative work.

Alongside the market, the weekend includes a programme of hands-on workshops, giving visitors the opportunity to learn new creative skills and take part in activities led by artists and facilitators.

Live music, performances and family entertainment will run throughout the weekend, creating a lively environment in which different generations can come together and celebrate.

Black history and heritage also form an important part of the programme. Visitors will be able to explore displays and activities designed to share stories, traditions and cultural knowledge, helping preserve and pass that history between generations.

Local community organisations will also be present, providing an opportunity for visitors to discover services and initiatives available across Hertfordshire.

The event is intended to be welcoming to all ages and backgrounds, whether visitors want to shop, create, learn, perform or simply enjoy the atmosphere.

By combining cultural celebration with opportunities for Black businesses and creatives, the weekend highlights both the heritage and the contemporary contribution of Black communities in Hertfordshire.

Black History Month Cultural Pop-Up Market & Workshop Weekend takes place at The Galleria Shopping Centre in Hatfield on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October 2026 from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
