Black History Month Cultural Pop-Up Market & Workshop Weekend – Stevenage

Sunday 11th October 2026

Celebrate Black history, culture, creativity and community at the Black History Month Cultural Pop-Up Market & Workshop Weekend in Stevenage.

Presented by Hatfield Cultural Connection CIC in partnership with Westgate Stevenage, the event brings together businesses, charities, artists, makers and community organisations for a day designed to celebrate Black culture and creative expression.

Visitors can explore a cultural marketplace featuring independent businesses and makers, providing an opportunity to discover products, services and creative work while supporting entrepreneurs from across the local community.

The day will also include workshops and activities designed to encourage participation, learning and cultural exchange.

At the heart of the event is a celebration of the creativity, traditions and histories that continue to shape Black communities in Britain today.

By bringing businesses, community organisations and artists together in one public space, the event creates opportunities for people to connect with one another while discovering new stories, organisations and creative talent.

The programme forms part of Black History Month 2026 and reflects this year’s wider focus on recognising the contribution of communities and the people whose work often happens outside the national spotlight.

For families and younger visitors, the event provides a welcoming way to experience Black History Month through interactive activities rather than traditional lectures or exhibitions.

For local businesses and community groups, it also offers an opportunity to build new connections and showcase their work to a wider audience.

The event is part of a wider programme developed by Hatfield Cultural Connection CIC to bring cultural celebrations into accessible town-centre spaces.

Black History Month Cultural Pop-Up Market & Workshop Weekend – Stevenage takes place at Westgate Shopping Centre on Sunday 11th October 2026 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
