We love nothing more than celebrating black women and we definitely have a track record of celebrating black female authors, so doing an event with South London’s favourite author Candice Carty-Williams to celebrate her second novel, People Person makes sense right?

On Monday 13th June, Black Ballad Presents… In Conversation With Candice Carty-Williams in the heart of South London, as the event will take place in Brixton – the Brixton Brewery to be precise. The pioneering author will be in conversation with Black Ballad’s Head of Editorial Jendella Benson as she discusses the writing process, the family dynamics of the Penningtons and the importance of creating black characters that are flawed.
