Steve Arrington, legendary lead singer of the band Slave, is one of the most celebrated names in funk and a veteran of the scene.

 

Having scored major hits with Slave on 80s classics like ‘Watching You’, ‘Just A Touch of Love’, and ‘Snaphot’, Arrington went on to make solo hits like ‘Weak at the Knees’, ‘Way Out’, ‘Nobody Can Be You’, ‘Dancin’ In The Key Of Life’ and ‘Feel So Real’.

Widely regarded as a pioneer of the G-Funk sound, his songs have been sampled by the likes of Jay-Z, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and N.W.A.

Steve’s long-awaited return began with collaborations with the likes of Dâm Funk and Snoop Dogg and most recently involved the single ‘Black Qualls’ with Thundercat on Stones Throw Records.
