Join us at Coventry Cathedral on Partition Commemoration Day for an evening of poetry, reflection, and remembrance marking the official launch of Remembrance—the second poetry anthology from Third Space, a platform for South Asian voices founded by poet Suman Gujral in 2024.
This powerful event brings together artists and audiences to honour the stories of Partition and its lasting legacy.
Held in partnership with South Asian Heritage Month and supported by Together for Hope, the evening offers a space for memory, healing and creative expression. Through readings from contributing poets, the anthology reflects on themes of displacement, resilience and intergenerational memory, giving voice to stories that have too often gone unspoken.
The event forms part of South Asian Heritage Month, a national celebration dedicated to recognising and sharing the histories and cultures of South Asian communities in the UK. Now in its fifth year, the month reaches thousands of people through storytelling, exhibitions, and public programmes that aim to foster understanding and belonging.
This year’s theme, “Roots to Routes”, explores the links between heritage, identity and the journeys we take—whether through migration, memory or self-discovery. It invites reflection on how the past shapes the present and informs how communities continue to grow and connect.
Coventry Cathedral, itself a symbol of peace and reconciliation, offers a fitting setting for this evening of remembrance. All are welcome to attend this moving celebration of poetry and shared history. Further details on timing and booking will be available via South Asian Heritage Month and Third Space channels.
