Windrush Generations Ft Scratchylus

24th October - 6pm

Black History Month UK are coming to the QMU with the award-winning reggae artist Scratchylus!

The theme for this year’s Black History Month is the 70th anniversary of the Windrush. In honour of this, the QMU’s flag-ship BHM event will feature a panel discussion titled: “How do we treat those from afar – Windrush to Now”. The aim of this panel will be to provoke debate and discussion. A full panel list will be announced soon.

This will be followed by a performance by Scratchylus, a world-renowned reggae artist who has been promoting his educational and inspirational songs all summer in the UK in particular his brand new release called ‘Windrush Generations’.

Recently he has produced songs in the Jimmy Cliff studio including ‘Sweet Child Precious Little Child’ featuring the legendary Kiddus I (official) and Empress Reggae. It’s an uplifting song with a precious message for children in these challenging times. You can hear it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Om6QqYhGwkY

The 70th Anniversary of the Windrush is key to Black History Month and we are honoured to welcome Scratchylus and his team to mark the occasion!
