Friday Tonic: Kasai Masai

Part of Africa Utopia

Kasai Masai bring the traditional sound of remote equatorial African villages to the UK, with a contemporary twist.

Kasai Masai’s original compositions exceed traditional expectations of Congolese music. They are first-class exponents of the fast-paced Soukous and Congolese rumba.

With galloping rhythms, strong melodies, passionate beats and swinging guitars, the group isn’t known for doing things by halves.

From the plains to the soaring heights, theirs is a sound that transports you to a land where music is more than just entertainment – it is a way of life.
