Spirit Of Jazz: Bop Jazz Theatre Company

19 June 2021

Back due to popular demand, The Spirit of Jazz is a collection of popular favourites from BOP repertoire and concert dance works and performances, including new work I. Am which made its debut as part of LDIF21 and Touches of Miles which pays homage to great trumpeter and jazz composer Miles Davis. The mixed bill encapsulates the individual and collective human spirit and creative expression of the jazz dance theatre art form.

“They not only danced with spirit but looked like they really felt the spirit of the music. In the freer, more upbeat dances, the sense that they were also really enjoying themselves reached out across the internet.” David Mead, Seeing Dance

The performances will be ‘streamed as live’ through a dedicated link sent via email. The performance will live at 7:45pm. To access the stream you will need to purchase a ticket (one per device/household) to watch the performance as though it is live. Please note you will be able to pause or rewind the performance via your digital device. The films will then remain online for 48 hours and is available internationally.

The streamed performance can be viewed on devices that allow you to access the Internet via a web browser, such as computers, tablets, mobile phones and some newer Smart TVs.

With original jazz compositions and arrangements by Paul Jenkins and choreography by Dollie Henry.
