Access All Areas: Making Work Accessible

Wednesday 12 March

Access All Areas and partners will share solutions from their Transforming Leadership programme for increasing employment for learning disabled and autistic professionals.
They’ll talk about
  • how to navigate benefits while freelancing
  • Access to Work for learning disabled and autistic professionals
  •  co-leadership of creative spaces
  • Accessible board meetings
  • the impact of inclusive leadership.
This event will wrap up 2 years of work on Transforming Leadership with 7 disability arts companies from around the UK, where 14 trainee leaders upskilled, built a network, and learned to navigate work as learning disabled and autistic professionals.
Only 5% of learning disabled people in the UK are in work, while 86% want to be. We hope these practical solutions and the experiences of learning disabled leaders will help show a new direction.
